Members of the BBIF Florida team participated in the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) 2016 Advocacy Day on May 24 and 25, 2016. OFN is the leading national network of CDFIs that shapes policy, conducts research, and creates partnership and programs that help our Members deliver high impact in financially stressed communities.
Held on Capitol Hill, BBIF Florida Board Chair Jacqueline Barr, President/CEO Inez Long (an OFN Board Member), and Marketing and Communications Officer Jasmine Gebon took part in a full day of targeted meetings with members of Congress and their staff.
OFN’s Advocacy Day is an excellent opportunity for members of Congress and their staff to hear directly from OFN members regarding the impactful, great work they do to increase access to capital in urban, rural, native and other minority communities. For the fourth year in a row, sharing our unique CDFI story on the Hill was quite the experience. Many kudos to the OFN team for putting together such a wonderful, impactful series of events and meetings.
