ReShawndia Mitchell is currently the Owner and Center Director of Mitchell Learning Academy. Mrs. Mitchell, a native of Jacksonville, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Education and minor in Business Administration from the University of Florida. She then furthered her education at the University of North Florida where she obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health. Mrs. Mitchell became extremely interested in early childhood education after working in the field of public health for over 7 years as a childcare injury prevention in-service trainer as well as a health policy coordinator focused on childhood obesity. Mitchell Learning Academy was then founded by Mrs. Mitchell in 2014 with the purpose of providing exceptional quality childcare while helping to strengthen families through education, health and wellness.
Mrs. Mitchell has served in various leadership roles at the local, state and national levels to help build the Greater Jacksonville community. Most notably, as the Chair of the First Coast Worksite Wellness Council, Mrs. Mitchell was responsible for leading the community coalition of business professionals focused on developing and enhancing wellness initiatives in the workplace. Her leadership resulted in a 150% increase in organization profit in just one year and a 75% increase in organization membership over three years.
ReShawndia Mitchell is also the proud wife of Dontorien Mitchell and mother to their wonderful 4 year old son.
